When it comes to cuddly, you can't get much cuddlier than the Bedlington Terrier - in looks... or personality. These beautiful, intelligent and charming dogs are the oldest and most laid back of the terrier group, and have been described as "Lamb-like" from their soft, wooly coats to their loveable, eager-to-please nature. The breed was originally developed in Bedlingtonshire, England in the 1800's as a favored working dog of miners. It's unique, stuffed-toy appearance and pleasing personality made it popular among English dog fanciers, and the breed can now be found in homes throughout the world. These gentle, loving dogs love children and make excellent family pets for families with a large, fenced yard and lots of love to offer. They are easy to train and excel in obedience and agility sports. They require daily exercise and weekly brushing to keep the soft, curly coat matt-free. Regular trimming is also required to keep the distinctive look.

IN LOVING MEMORY...
Ch Stenmor Standing Ovation - Best Exhibit
Last night we received the sad news that
Shelagh O'Brien
had passed away on Thursday (17th
February 2010).
For those who did not know Shelagh she was one
of the founding members of the Bedlington Terrier Club. Shelagh
began breeding Bedlington Terriers in 1964 and anyone who has a
"Stenmor" prefix in the ancestry of their dog has Shelagh to thank.
She was totally dedicated to the breed and did
much to promote and spread the word about our wonderful dogs.
Shelagh was always happy to
help new Bedlington Terrier owners and give grooming and care tips,
the breed has lost a great advocate.
